About the Dance

Global Caravan Tribal Belly Dance®, (also known as Gypsy Caravan Tribal Belly Dance) is a dance format created in 1991 by Paulette Rees Denis, out of her love for Tribal Style Belly Dance. Described by Paulette as “ A rich blend of contemporary dance with a universal appeal that is esthetically pleasing, spiritually grounding, and physically rewarding. My styling is a fusion of several influences – urban, folk, ritual, and trance dances from different countries, as well as contemporary life and dance.”

This style is based around movements, rituals, and history of traditional Middle Eastern Bellydance, combined with other cultures and dance traditions.
